An Apology Proclamation

APOLOGY PROCLAMATION

Whereas: According to Hebrew Scripture, Abraham was chosen to become the patriarch of a great nation with The Lord, the creator of all things, as their God where the descendants of Abraham (the Hebrews) would inherit that covenant.

Whereas: Ishmael, the first born son of Abraham, was disinherited and excluded from the covenant proclaimed to make those descendants the “Children of God.”

Whereas: Inheritance of the covenant was passed instead through Abraham’s second son Isaac and then subsequently to God’s own son Jesus who proclaimed those who believed in him to be the Kingdom of God.

Whereas: Ishmael, excluded from the covenant passed through Isaac, set up a shrine at a place called Mecca subsequently adopted as the Holy Place upon which the Prophet Mohammed built the Muslim faith that mirrored but remained insulated from the beliefs proclaimed by the Hebrews as well as those who believe Jesus.

Whereas: The covenant descendants, known as the Children of Israel who proclaimed the title of “chosen children of God”, did in fact by ostracizing all others create resentment and hatred that, as documented by Hebrew Scripture, has existed throughout their history and is in evidence to this day especially by followers of the beliefs proclaimed by the Muslim faith.

Wherefore: In the interest of attempting to bring resolution of the stated long standing resentment and hatred, be it known that those who re-transmit this proclamation to friends and associates ascribe to an open apology for the treatment of Ishmael and all subsequently ostracized by and subjected to classification as not being “children of God”, by those who claimed inheritance of the covenant the Lord made with Abraham.
